École Montessori de l’Outaouais – natural garden fences

, , ,

Over the weekend a group of parents, students and teachers gathered to build natural barriers out of cut tree branches. We built the barriers as a way to protect the pollinator gardens that the students planted in the fall of 2025. Branches were cut and delivered by parents who then made robust posts out of the base of the branches. The smaller, more malleable branches were then woven around each post.

One down, four more to build on May 2nd. Now that we have worked out the method, the project should go much more quickly.

It warms my heart to see our community coming together to make great things happen for our kids and their everyday environment!
