Wow you guys. I just updated the seed donor list for Seedy Saturday, and I am blown away. So many amazing organizations working together, willing to donate to community initiatives like ours, for food security, biodiversity, soil health and community building.

Full disclosure: we are putting together a Seedy Saturday event for the first time in our community (Aylmer, QC) , and really, truly, flying blind and working together with so many partners and organizations to figure things out as we go along.
What we are finding is that there IS appetite in our community for reciprocity over profit, and we want to use that momentum to continue to bring our community together.
Ce qu’on voit, c’est qu’il y a vraiment un appétit dans notre communauté pour la réciprocité au lieu du profit. On veut utiliser ce momentum pour continuer de rassembler notre monde.

Help us spread the word. We are still looking for seed donations, as well as local pioneers in regenerative and sustainable gardening, bio-diversity and food security practices willing to present mini-workshops throughout the day.
Local organizations focused on food security, community and biodiversity will be there, including Partnaires du Secteur Aylmer, Pollinate Aylmer, Boucher Forest Foundation, the Aylmer Foodbank, and more. We have room for more, and participation is free.

We will have demonstrations, workshops and children’s activities running throughout the day, and of course, free seeds donated by all of these amazing organizations.

We’ve been having fun placing our little home printed posters all over Aylmer, and our community has been amazing in supporting us, letting us plaster them, and finding ways to contribute and help.

Help Wanted!
We still need seed donations, local organizations, dynamic workshop speakers, seed packets and volunteers, both leading up to the event, and on the day. We are also open to your ideas, and are working through some logistics to find ways for our local restaurants and businesses to also get involved.
Besoin d’aide !

If you’re interested in getting involved, email our amazing organizing team, or simply send me a message, and I can put you in touch with the right person.

Regarding the use of French:
I’m working on it. My hope is by spring to transition the website to a bilingual platform. My French is still mediocre, but I do enjoy practicing speaking, and have been finding myself becoming less inhibited, in large part due to the welcoming and understanding atmosphere of our group of volunteers, Pollinate / Polliniser Aylmer.
I won’t pretend to be able to write grammatically correct French, and I’m still not sure how I feel about trying to translate my personal blog, but if someone reads it and appreciates the (obviously not me) attempt, I’m happy to keep trying.
